What
is temperament? Temperament, as we use the term, refers to the way people perceive and process information. In a sense, temperament is our operating system. While it forms a part of everyone’s personality, it doesn’t define it. Nor should we let it. That is why you cannot conclude that anyone’s temperament is better than another’s. |

How
does The New Temperament As human beings, we all have access to the same reservoir of emotions and potentials. Today’s discoveries in neuroscience confirm the plasticity of the human brain and our ability to adapt and change when we believe in ourselves and focus our efforts. Unfortunately, many so-called “personality” assessments convey a sense of judgment. These old-style assessments, developed in the 1970’s or earlier, tend to put people in a box rather than providing a positive framework to flex their sensibilities and awareness. The New Temperament offers a reinterpretation of Carl Jung’s work constructed on this modern view, which provides substantial evidence for personal growth and change that can continue into our latter years. We show how temperaments connect and overlap. We’re all capable of seeing beyond our own temperaments and learning how to operate in new and productive ways. That’s one of the best things about The New Temperament.
